The creation of my installation was tricky, to say the least. I experimented with a wide range of materials that involved plants, cornstalk, and brown paper just to finally settle on using a large sheet of burlap given to me by my academic advisor. Because my daily practice is doing my hair, I decided to make a big burlap braid, tying the ends with the left over plant materials I had already collected. For the background I painted a large sheet of white paper black so that the burlap braid could lay over it. I chose the color black because the it represents me doing my hair at night. I finally added a string of lights to add some atmosphere. My installation was then finished.
